Their story

The name TASxCOFFEE comes from two things - the owners met each other when they were both travelling around Tasmania. They bonded over coffee and it turned out they both wanted to have their own cafe. TASxCOFFEE finally got their own place in the heart of Sumida around the summer of 2021, after having started working from out of a mobile van selling coffee around Tokyo.

Since then, they have been decorating their shop with Polaroid pictures of the people they have met over the years. In addition to the more than two dozen cute dog pictures that have visited TASxCOFFEE. While waiting for your order, you can see exactly how your coffee is being made, since the bar is half open to see what the chef behind the bar is doing. I've always found it interesting to see how Kim is working to make delicious coffee.

It's a tough choice for the picky eater, because TASxCOFFEE offers many options to choose from. Not only is the coffee made to your taste, the lactose free feature is that they use a Bonsoy milk to make an equally tasty coffee such as a cappacino and a latte. As well as the soy alternative, there are plenty of refreshments on the menu. These include hot, old-fashioned cold lemonade and their seasonal drink. If you're hungry, have a go at the sandwiches, you won't be disappointed :).

Bonsoy is a Japanese soy milk that was first introduced to Australia in the 80's and bills itself as an original 80's kid. New to many people at the time, Bonsoy has grown rapidly since then and is now loved by many baristas. Bonsoy is environmentally conscious. They focus on the natural production of the soy used to make the milk. Check out the ingredients, nutrients and more on their website.
